Start With Alberta Supports

Alberta Supports connects residents with provincial programs related to financial assistance, employment, housing, disabilities, childcare and other essential needs.

Before calling, write down the type of help you need, your current income, household size and any deadlines you are facing. This can help the representative direct you to the correct program more quickly.

Apply for Affordable Housing or Rent Assistance

The Government of Alberta offers affordable housing and rent-assistance information for qualifying low-income households. Options may include affordable housing units or monthly assistance to help with rent in the private market.

Use the provincial Find Housing tool to answer a few questions and identify programs that may fit your situation. After reviewing the results, contact the listed housing provider to request an application.

Apply for Income Support and Emergency Assistance

Alberta Income Support may help eligible residents cover basic costs such as food, clothing, shelter and transportation.
