Human Resource Administration Diploma

The Human Resource Administration Diploma provides students with practical training in the essential functions of human resources and labour relations.

Students learn how organizations develop, implement, and evaluate human resource policies, programs, and procedures. The curriculum covers recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, employee relations, labour relations, training and development, workplace health and safety, organizational behaviour, management, and business communications.

The program also introduces students to accounting, business mathematics, computer applications, business law, economics, and ethical decision-making.

Graduates develop skills that can support human resources departments in public, private, nonprofit, and consulting environments. The program also includes a capstone project and 160 hours of work experience

Before being accepted into the program, applicants must meet the applicable academic or age requirement and provide acceptable evidence of English-language proficiency.

Basic Eligibility

Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Provide proof of Grade 12 graduation or an equivalent credential; or
  • Be 19 years of age or older.

English-Language Proficiency

Applicants must provide evidence of English-language proficiency through at least one of the following options.

Secondary Education in English

Applicants may provide evidence that they successfully completed three years of full-time secondary education between Grades 8 and 12 in English in a country where English is one of the principal languages.

This may include successful completion of an Adult Graduation Program. Applicants using this option must provide transcripts showing completion of Grade 12 English with a minimum grade of C.

Post-Secondary Education in English

Applicants may provide evidence that they completed two years of full-time post-secondary education at an accredited institution where English was the language of instruction in a country where English is one of the principal languages.

Approved English-Language Test

Applicants may submit verified results from an accepted English-language proficiency test. Test results must be dated no more than two years before the program start date.

Accepted minimum scores include:

  • IELTS Academic: Overall score of 5.5 or higher
  • CAEL: Overall score of 40 or higher
  • Duolingo English Test: Overall score of 95 or higher
  • TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 46 or higher
  • CELPIP: Listening 6, Speaking 6, Reading 5, and Writing 5
  • PTE Academic: Overall score of 43 or higher
  • iTEP: Overall score of 3.5 or higher

Assessment Methods

Students may be assessed through written tests, computer-based activities, assignments, lesson assessments, projects, and practical coursework.

Continuous assessment allows instructors to evaluate student progress throughout the program and provide guidance when additional support is required.

Attendance Requirement

Students must maintain a minimum attendance level of 85%.

Work-Experience Eligibility

Students must maintain a minimum C grade average and at least 85% attendance before beginning the work-experience component.

Graduation Requirement

Students must achieve a minimum C grade average and successfully complete all required program
